First Day in Caracas, Venezuela

After a red-eye flight from Houston, we finally arrived at Caracas, the capitol of Venezuela. Thank God for the warm welcome from Pastor Semson Nip of Lord's Grace Church and his members Franado and ManYee. They took us to Pastor Nip's house from the airport.

After arriving at Pastor Nip's house, we went to a local cafe for breakfast. I had to rely on Pastor Nip, Brother Franado and his wife ManYee to order breakfast because of my lack of Spanish knowledge. This taught me to be humble when serving in a new environment. I come here to serve the Lord not as a superior outsider but a brother in Christ.

Dr. Johnny Wan, our team leader, told us in advance that we had to be flexible when on mission. We have to exercise flexibility on the first day of our trip. Pastor Nip is helping us to buy bus tickets to our destination Puerto La Cruz but tickets may be unavailable. We may have to travel by air instead. Please pray that God will provide us with the right means of transportation.

We will visit two churches in Caracas today and meet with Rev. Albert Seung of 4C Bible & Missions Institute. He is training church leaders in Venezuela to meet the ministry needs as many churches do not have pastors.

Thank God! Pastor Nip finally came back while I was typing this blog. He went to two different bus companies for more than two and half hours. Thank God that he finally got the bus tickets for our team. Another reminder to us, we have to rely on God's provision for our needs.

Please keep us in your prayer.

Love in Him,

Pastor Ricky
