Coming back to Pastor Nip's home

With Pastor Nip being our guide, we had a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. The dishes might look like Mexican food but they tasted differently. You can see some of the dishes from the pictures.

After lunch we visited Pastor Nip's church. They have been at the current address for several years. Recently the government announced that no transaction for real estate could be conducted in the neighborhood of his church. Pastor Nip told us that the government might take over all the properties in that neighborhood because they wanted to expand their existing government building complex. It will directly affect the future of his church. He is planning to use a Spanish-speaking church as an alternate meeting place. Pastor Nip is an influential leader among the Chinese churches here. Please pray for him and his church.

Please also remember Mrs. Nip as she has to have dialysis three times a week. It takes at least half day for Pastor Nip to drive Mrs. Nip to the hospital. Mrs. Nip has applied for a kidney replacement, so please pray that God will provide her need.

We attended the opening ceremony of Four Seas Social Service Center. It is a ministry aiming at reaching the local Chinese through social service. This center is a joint venture of several local churches. According to the information from the government, there is at least 260,000 Chinese in Venezuela. The total number of Chinese attending churches is less than 500. In order words, there are many opportunities for leading Chinese to Christ.

Lok was playing guitar during the opening ceremony of the center. When we returned to Pastor Nip's home, he was not feeling too well because of headache. He has taken medicine. Please pray that he will be feeling much better tomorrow.
